Give Every Draft a Useful Starting Point
Sonicribe turns a short recording into text where you write. Choose the speech model that recognizes your words, then choose how the draft should read. A style keeps those choices together so your next email, note, or coding prompt starts with the right setup.

Pick an Online Speech Model
Open Styles, select a style, and choose Voice → Speech transcription. Use Models to compare the listed services, credit rates, and speed and accuracy ratings. Dictate a short sentence with a name, a number, and a term you use often.
Keep that sentence when comparing choices. Listen for names and dates first, then check whether the draft captures your meaning. Add recurring terms to Words so they are available as hints for future recordings.
Choose the Writing Format
Use Exactly as spoken when you want a speech draft to edit yourself. It keeps Rewrite → Text formatting at No formatting. For polished paragraphs, select Clean prose and choose a formatting model in Rewrite.
For other tasks, try Email, Message, or Work message. Say the recipient, request, owner, and date that belong in the draft. Each style gives the text a useful shape while you supply its content.
Save a Custom Instruction
Create Styles → New style and choose a recognizable name. In Rewrite, select a Text formatting model and save Your instructions. For example:
Format my recap under Decisions and Next steps. Use concise bullets. Keep the owners and dates I mention with their actions. Include only the facts I dictate.
Use this style for a recurring meeting recap or adapt the headings for a weekly update. Share the instruction text with a teammate to use the same structure.
Prepare the Microphone and Cues
Open Settings → Listening → Input device, choose your microphone, and use Test mic. Set Trim quiet pauses to suit your recording. In Settings → Audio, choose Start and stop chimes and a comfortable Volume.
Open Settings → Shortcuts → Record shortcut to set the keys you prefer. The default is ⇧ Z. Focus an editable field, press the shortcut, speak, and press it again to finish.
Keep Your Workflow Ready
Set Styles → Default style for everyday dictation. Under a style's Where section, connect a particular app or website for a task-specific format. Global recording checks the linked app, then website, then the default.
Find a previous draft in Transcripts → Search transcripts. Copy useful text into your document and continue from there. Keep project terms in Words, organize them with New group, and use Import CSV or Export CSV for word/replacement pairs.
