A coding request is easier to act on when the requested changes and boundaries are explicit. Vibe coding style organizes your dictated software brief into sections drawn from what you actually said: a goal when supplied, numbered changes, requirements and things the implementation should avoid.

This style writes the brief. It does not generate an implementation, execute code, inspect your repository or invent acceptance criteria. You can review and paste the resulting request into the coding tool you use.

Dictate the behavior you want

  • Open Styles and select Vibe coding.
  • To create a dedicated copy, choose New style → Template → Vibe coding, review the prompt preview and speech selection, then click New style.
  • In Rewrite, check that an available Text formatting model is selected.
  • Use Today's Start listening to test the selected style in-window. For global shortcut dictation into a coding tool, set Default style to Vibe coding for unmatched destinations or link the tool/site under Linked apps or Linked websites. A linked match takes priority over the default.
  • State your goal, then the changes in the order you want them considered. Explicitly state requirements and prohibitions.
  • Stop and review paths, identifiers, numbers and any uncertainty before handing the brief to a coding tool.

An illustrative input is:

The goal is to make the settings easier to navigate. First, move the language selector into Settings. Second, keep the saved language after restart. Require both English and Korean labels. Do not change the billing screen. I am not sure whether the old shortcut still works.

The intended brief separates the two changes from the language requirement and billing boundary, while keeping the uncertainty about the shortcut. It should not add a new keyboard shortcut or a testing requirement that you did not state. Use this example to refine the saved instruction around your own coding brief.

Name details that must survive formatting

Speak file paths and identifiers carefully, then verify them in the result. A plausible-looking path is not useful if one character changes. For recurring names, Words may help with spelling, subject to the selected provider's hint support.

The preset uses headings in the transcript's language and omits empty sections. If you supplied no goal, it should not invent one. It numbers stated changes in their spoken order and separates requirements from prohibitions.

Unlike the other ordinary writing templates, Vibe coding starts with all three cleanup toggles enabled: Numbered lists, Money as $6,000 and Numbers as digits. Check saved choices if you customize the style.

Review the handoff as a specification

Before pasting, check that the brief says what should change, what must be preserved and what remains unknown. Resolve missing context yourself or leave the uncertainty visible. A coding tool's later behavior and permissions are outside this dictation preset.

Use the Vibe coding instructions for controls, and custom styles and rules to build a recurring brief format around your own workflow.
