A spoken draft can be useful more than once. You might dictate an explanation for a colleague, then need the same wording in a project note later that day. Transcripts gives you a place to find saved transcriptions without repeating the recording.

Sonicribe's Transcripts is local to the Mac and gated by the signed-in account. It is not a cloud-synchronized notebook. Sharing a cloud credit allowance across devices does not make the transcription history from one Mac appear on another.

Find a draft by its content

  • Sign in with the Google account associated with your local data.
  • Open Transcripts.
  • Enter a distinctive word or phrase in the search field.
  • Read the matching entry and check its date and text.
  • Click the history card to copy its transcription, then paste it into your destination.

Search for something specific, such as a project name or an unusual phrase from the draft. A broad word like “meeting” may produce several similar entries. Confirm the actual wording before copying; a familiar preview can belong to a different recording.

Transcripts groups entries by date and shows time information and word counts. For a larger collection, Load More exposes additional entries. If an older draft is not in the first displayed set, use search or load more before concluding it is missing.

Turn an old draft into a current message

Suppose yesterday's fictional note says, “The Northstar introduction is ready for review on Thursday.” You can copy it into your editor today, update the deadline, and add the next action. Transcripts recovers the saved text; you still decide which facts remain current.

Clicking a card copies its text. It does not automatically send a message to another person. If copying reports a failure, select the visible text and copy it manually. Check the pasted destination before submitting anything, especially if you have another item on the clipboard.

Remove an entry deliberately

Each card has a delete control. Use it for the entry you intend to remove and review the confirmation. Do not assume an undo or a remote copy exists. Copy important text into your own document before deleting its history entry.

If Transcripts asks you to sign in, restore the appropriate account rather than creating a fresh recording immediately. Signing out locks access to the local account data. A different Google account does not imply access to the original account's entries.

Keep a useful draft somewhere durable

Transcripts is convenient for finding recent writing, but it does not replace your own document organization. When a draft becomes a project decision, a published paragraph, or a reusable template, copy it to the place where you maintain that work.

The Transcripts instructions cover search, copying, and deletion. To save a current result as a text or Markdown file, follow edit, copy, and export.
