A writing tool is easier to build into your routine when it starts the way you prefer and its controls are easy to revisit. Sonicribe keeps startup, updates, support, and the tutorial in Settings → Shortcuts so you can keep the next writing session ready.

Begin with a working recording setup. Startup convenience is useful after you have confirmed your microphone, account, and configured shortcuts, especially if you want to dictate soon after signing into your Mac.

Decide whether to launch on login

  • Open Settings and find Application.
  • Turn Launch on login on if you want Sonicribe to start with your macOS session.
  • Use Open Login Items to inspect the corresponding system settings when needed.
  • Check the behavior at your next normal login.

Launch on login starts off. If you prefer opening the app only for writing sessions, leave it off. When the expected startup does not happen, inspect macOS Login Items rather than repeatedly changing unrelated microphone or account settings.

Check the available release

Open Settings → Shortcuts and choose Check for updates. Follow the app’s message to get the latest improvements, then return to your preferred recording and writing setup. Use a short sample in an editable field after updating to resume your normal routine.

When an update is offered, follow the download and installation steps in the app’s message. Quit Sonicribe, replace the app in Applications as directed, and reopen it. Keep your destination document ready so you can return to the writing task you were working on.

If the check is unavailable, review your connection and sign-in state. You can also open the official download page. Treat “could not check” as a failed check, rather than evidence that no update exists.

Keep Your Writing Setup Close

Use Settings → Shortcuts to keep Record shortcut, Discard recording, and Change style easy to reach. The recording default is ⇧ Z. Assign a comfortable key combination and try it with a short sentence in a plain editable field.

Set Styles → Default style for everyday writing. Link a particular app or website in a style's Where section when that destination needs a different format. A useful default and a few clear assignments make the next writing session easy to begin.

Revisit the walkthrough or request help

Under Help, choose Restart tutorial to run the app walkthrough again. This is useful when you return after a break or want to reacquaint yourself with recording and style selection.

Open Settings → Shortcuts → Help for Support and the support address. Describe the action you tried, the message you saw, and a short non-sensitive example. A concrete reproduction makes it easier to explain a recording, paste, or style issue.

The startup, updates, and help instructions summarize these controls. If the issue is input rather than startup, use the microphone setup guide.
